Linear motor axis for pipe sawing machine

The feed of an automatic pipe sawing machine was equipped with a highly dynamic linear motor axis. This enabled the cycle times to be reduced to a minimum. The axis was equipped with sheet metal covers to protect against metal chips. In addition, the permanent magnets are equipped with a continuous stainless steel band with lateral sealing. For functional reasons, however, the air gap between the linear motor and the magnetic track is minimal. The metal chips that accumulate on the permanent magnet as a result are transported to the end of the axle by a plastic scraper located on the motor, which wipes the chips off the magnetic strip.
